The Commotions
In late 2012 fellow Jivewire and member of the Funk Brothers Canadian horn section Brian Asselin produced an album with Funk Brother lead singer Delbert Nelson of Detroit. Brian put together a great group of Ottawa musicians and asked me to play the trombone in the band. The resulting recording is fantastic and I am very glad that Brian included one of my songs “Love Maze” along with his excellent original songs. I am very happy to be in this band and can’t wait to perform live as the recording is already being well received pre-release.
Reformed in 2016 as “The Commotions”, Brian Asselin has produced a fantastic album as a follow up to “Let Me See You Dance”! “The Commotions 11” features singers Rebecca Noel and Jeff Rogers with a line up of excellent musicians. I am once again very happy to be in this group and have placed two songs on the album, “Last Look” and “Come Clean”.
